Wants to love it but too repetitive

Guys, keep the indie spirit going but a touch screen beat em up with lumber jacks and bears isnt enough for to keep me interested for the time needed to power up. Its not grindy but when you die and have to retry the pace is too slow to keep my interest. Either way I bought in. Looking for to other great non-FTP work for you guys.
